Publication Ethics
The Mexican Yearbook of Global Affairs is firmly committed to upholding the highest ethical and professional standards throughout all stages of the editorial process. To ensure scientific integrity, the journal adheres to the principles and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and draws upon its guidelines for editorial management and the resolution of potential misconduct cases.
The editorial board takes active measures to identify and prevent the publication of manuscripts where there are indications of research or publication misconduct. These practices include, but are not limited to, plagiarism, duplicate publication, citation manipulation, data falsification, and the failure to disclose relevant conflicts of interest.
Protocol for Allegations or Reports of Misconduct
In the event that the editorial board becomes aware of, receives a report of, or identifies a well-founded suspicion of misconduct related to a manuscript —whether under review or already published— the following protocol will be initiated:
1. The editorial process of the manuscript will be temporarily suspended or, if applicable, a review of the published work will be initiated.
2. Clarifications or relevant evidence will be requested from the authors, ensuring at all times the principles of good faith, impartiality, due process, and confidentiality.
3. The editorial board will follow the guidelines and flowcharts developed by COPE to resolve the case in a fair and impartial manner.
