Abstract

The regional integration of Latin America, and particularly the Pacific Alliance, are study variables that International Relations theories can address. Indeed, realism, liberalism, constructivism, and integration theory are addressed in this article with the aim of providing a theoretical framework for the contemporary phenomena and processes that the Pacific Alliance represents as a mechanism of integration in Latin America. The anticipated conclusion is that International Relations theories can be applied to the Pacific Alliance, particularly those presented in this study, as they are among the most representative in the intellectual sphere of this discipline.
