Mexican Yearbook of Global Affairs 2024

Call for Papers

The Mexican Yearbook of Global Affairs (AMAG by its acronym in Spanish) is a publication produced by the Isidro Fabela Institute of International Studies at the Universidad del Mar in Huatulco, Oaxaca, Mexico. As an academic product, the AMAG was created in 2022 and is planned, designed and coordinated with the aim of providing a space to analyze the most significant current world events. Being a global, periodic, rigorous and impartial publication, its essence is based on the principle of academic freedom under which the entire responsibility of the published content belongs to each author, thus promoting the heterogeneity and complementarity needed in academic endeavors.

AMAG’s Editorial Committee is pleased to invite the academic community to send contributions for the third edition, 2024, which must be unpublished and distinguished by their academic rigor, so that they contribute to broadening and deepening studies on the contemporary international system and society. To promote global analyses from all regional perspectives, the Yearbook is open to receiving contributions in any language, therefore papers written in the mother tongue of the authors are welcome.

In order to have a database that includes the list of interested contributors, authors will be able to manifest their interest from September 10, 2024, by filling out the form available at https://forms.gle/MLjxf52SHKYFzEpr6 Subsequently, contributions ought to be sent before February 28, 2025 either by email (anuario@huatulco.umar.mx) or through the Open Journal Systems platform (https://anuarioasuntosglobalesumar.com/).

Submissions are to be included into one of the Yearbook sections, which are: Essays, Chronicles, Classic Authors, Bibliographic Essays, Interviews, and Multimedia Files. All received submissions will be reviewed in a first stage by the Editorial Committee to ensure the required guidelines are followed and the manuscript is acceptable. At this stage, proposals can be rejected without being peer-reviewed, if it is considered that the contribution is not related to the issue area or lacks the minimum quality requirements. Essay proposals that meet the Editorial Committee review requirements will be submitted to a second double-blind academic peer review.
